Newcastle Grammar School proudly links back to the earliest days of Anglican education in the city. The very first students were taught in a small hut on the site of today’s Cathedral, and administration of the School was first developed under the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle.
Across the road from the Hill Campus, Christ Church Cathedral remains an important place in the life of today’s students, offering a space of quiet reflection and an opportunity to engage with the Christian message. Students in Years 5 to 12 participate and lead Chapel Services in the Cathedral.
The School retains a highly valued relationship with the Anglican Diocese. The Dean of the Cathedral officiates during Chapel Services, works with the School on special occasions and attends School events.
