Nature’s classroom awaits through the NGS Outdoor Adventure program. Students are immersed in the rugged beauty of nature, whether it’s navigating forests, conquering peaks or paddling rivers. These experiences challenge individuals and forge bonds with fellow adventurers. Students will conquer fears, encounter challenges, embrace the elements, and return with a deeper understanding of the world and their place in it.

Rowing at NGS builds physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. Our students compete in local and prestigious regattas like the Head of the Hunter, Head of the River, NSW State Championships, and Australian National Championships, and are often selected for the NSW Pathways crew to represent at higher levels.
Sailing
Snow Sports
The Interschools Snow Sports competitions in Australia start at the regional level, where students in Kindergarten to Year 12 compete in various disciplines, fostering a love for the sport. Successful athletes advance to the state and national levels, showcasing their skills and aiming for prestigious titles in events like Alpine Giant Slalom, Ski Cross, and Snowboard Cross.
Triathlon
Triathlon at NGS provides Secondary students with the opportunity to enhance their endurance and athletic skills, participating in events like the NSW All Schools Triathlon. In 2025, NGS students were selected for the NSW team to compete at the School Sport Australia Triathlon Championships, showcasing their talent on a national stage.
Year Group Camps
School camps at NGS offer students in Years 3 to 9 the opportunity to develop essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and independence through engaging outdoor activities. These holistic experiences also foster a sense of community and create lasting memories, enhancing students’ overall school experience.
