Kindergarten to Year 12
We accept enrolments across all year groups subject to positions being available – please contact the School directly for up-to-date information on availability. The main entry years are Kindergarten, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 11. All other years are subject to availability, please see Enrolment Availability below or contact our Head of Enrolments at the email below for updated information on availability:

Step 1 – Discover NGS
Explore our website, download the Prospectus Discover all that Newcastle Grammar School has to offer by visiting us for an Open Day or a personal tour.
Step 2 – Apply
Complete and submit the online Application for Enrolment and pay the non-refundable Application Fee of $330. This holds your child’s position for enrolment at Newcastle Grammar School. You are permitted to apply for enrolment prior to attending a tour or Open Day.

Step 3 – Waitlist
Applicants are placed on a waiting list, subject to available space in the entry year, in order of application. Additional information may also be requested at this stage.
Step 4 – Interview
You and your child may be invited to attend an interview with either the Head of School (for Years 7 to 12) or Head of Primary (for Kindergarten to Year 6) or their delegate in the 12-24 months preceding your child’s entry.
Step 5 – Offer
If a place is available, successful applicants will be contacted by the School and an official offer of placement will be sent.
Step 6 – Acceptance and enrolment
Acceptance of an offer is completed when the non-refundable Entry Fee has been paid.
Current Enrolment Availability
- There is limited space for enrolments for selective years in 2024. We recommend reaching out to the Head of Enrolments for the most up to date information on availability.
- Year 7 2025 entry interviews are now complete as per the enrolment policy and procedures. Please be advised that if you choose to proceed with an enrolment application for Year 7 2025, your child will be placed on a waiting list.
- Year 7 2026 has limited places available. Please submit applications as early as possible.
- We encourage prospective families to contact our Head of Enrolments, before applying for Years 8 to 11 in 2025 to discuss availability. You may join the waitlist at any time by submitting an online application.
