Board Announcement

I am delighted to welcome two new members to the Newcastle Grammar School Board – Ms Naomi Cunningham and Mr Luke Bortoli.

The Board plays a vital role in the life of the School, providing strategic oversight and governance while helping to steward our mission, values and long-term direction. Board members bring their expertise, judgement and commitment in service of the School community, ensuring that NGS remains well positioned to deliver an outstanding holistic education for current and future generations of students.

Naomi joins the Board with extensive executive leadership experience in the Australian funds management sector. As Executive General Manager of Fidante, part of Challenger Limited, she leads the strategy and growth of a global multi-investment management platform and has held senior leadership roles across strategy, transformation, product development and wealth management. Naomi also has a strong connection to the School as the parent of two NGS students.

Luke brings a distinguished background spanning finance, technology and management. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Sydney, he has lectured in finance and built an impressive executive career with leading Australian technology organisations including Aristocrat, Afterpay, Altium and Chainlink. Prior to this, he worked in investment banking with UBS, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising. Luke is also a current NGS parent.

We are grateful to Naomi and Luke for their willingness to serve the School community and look forward to the expertise, insight and perspective they will bring to the Board. Their appointment further strengthens the collective stewardship of Newcastle Grammar School as we continue to pursue excellence in all that we do.
