Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
We are incredibly proud of the achievements and the outstanding results attained in the HSC, with remarkable individual successes across a wide range of subjects. Even more importantly, we celebrate the thoughtful, compassionate and outward-looking young adults you have become, ready to make a positive impact on the world.
The completion of schooling marks the culmination of 13 years of dedication, perseverance and hard work. These results are a reflection not only of the students’ efforts but also of the support and encouragement of parents, teachers and peers throughout the journey.
I am pleased to see remarkable success in a range of subject areas, which demonstrates the breadth of expertise of our teachers across all faculties. Notable subject areas of outstanding achievement include Biology, Drama, Engineering Studies, English Extension 2, Legal Studies, Maths Extension 2 and Physics.

- Five students obtained an ATAR above 99
- 22% of students received an ATAR of above 95
- 40% received an ATAR above 90
- 62% of students received an ATAR above 80
- Seven students were named on the NSW All-round Achievers merit list obtaining the highest possible band in 10 or more units.
Charlotte Knauer 99.4
All-round Achiever
Charlotte is the ATAR Dux, obtaining the highest ATAR for the Class of 2025. She achieved Band 6s in all her subjects.
Charlotte was also on the student leadership team as a Wellbeing Prefect, was a member of the Round Square Committee and played a role in the 2025 school musical production. Charlotte’s commitment to serving the Newcastle Grammar School community and beyond is to be commended.
Siena Latham 99.3
All-round Achiever
Siena is the 2025 NGS Dux. Siena was a member of the Round Square Committee, was a Community Prefect, served regularly at the Community lunches in conjunction with the Christ Church Cathedral outreach program, was a member of the NGS debating team, represented NGS in national competitions during her time at school and was selected to represent youth in the 2024 NSW Schools Constitutional Convention at NSW Parliament House. Siena is a shining example of making the most of the holistic and varied opportunities available at NGS.
Jem Fidyk 99.3
All-round Achiever
Jem participated in numerous activities throughout his schooling at NGS, including Chess competitions, the school musical, and coding.
Barnabas Toth 99.2
All-round Achiever
During his time at school, Barnabas has been an active and contributing member of the community, representing NGS in Swimming, performing with the Symphony Orchestra, participating in school musicals and showing dedication and commitment to Rowing.
Claudia Wills 99.15
All-round Achiever
Claudia received an incredible 98% for Drama.
She also received an OnStage Individual Performance Nomination and an OnStage Group Performance Nomination.
Claudia was a 2025 Senior Prefect, an active member of the Round Square Committee, showed dedication and commitment to Rowing, Athletics, academic competitions, debating and school musicals.

Engineering Studies 97% 7th in NSW.
Mitchell was a Senior Prefect, received a UoN Excellence Award for Engineering, was a committed member of NGS Rowing, represented the School in Athletics and served the greater community.
Connor Elvish 97.9
All-round Achiever
As well as showing commitment to his academic pursuits, Connor was a member of NGS Rowing.
Lucienne Roberts 97
All-round Achiever
Lucienne was a Community Prefect, received recognition for her contribution to Co-curricular Creative and Performing Arts, was a member of the wellbeing student committee, was a dedicated performer in school musicals and performances over several years and a member of the Senior Choir.
Lucienne received an OnStage Individual Performance Nomination and an OnStage Group Performance Nomination for HSC Drama.
Olivia McGee 93.1
Olivia received a nomination for English Extension 2 Young Writers Showcase and received an offer to study ballet at The Juilliard School in New York, USA.
Congratulations to William Bird, Molly Boyle, Ronan Brown, Lucas Burton, George Carr, Leila Cunsolo, Zara Campbell, Julian Feltrin, Abbey Hutton, Vanessa Kuru, Samuel Lane, Feliz Lamoureux, Noah Lorenz, Jack Martin, Annabel McKensey, Sadie Smart and Laura Trout who all earned ATARs above 95.
Year 11 Accelerated students
Newcastle Grammar School offers an Accelerated Program in Mathematics, Business Studies and Biology to support students with skill and passion to excel in these areas. Congratulations to the following Year 11 students for their outstanding Year 12 academic results:
Keely Rao achieved a rank of 3rd in NSW for Year 12 Business Studies.
Yejia (Thomas) Wang achieved 100% in Year 12 Maths Advanced (placing 14th in NSW) and 50/50 in Maths Extension 1.
Emily Levitt in Year 11 ranked 15th in the state for her outstanding result of 97% for Year 12 Biology.
